Wilfrid Jury is a school based centre located inside Wilfrid Jury Public School. This location has been host to a number of pilot projects like the Step by Step Program and it was one of seven Early learning sites in Ontario to pilot the implementation of Ontario’s Early learning framework. Our age groups consist of Toddlers ages 18months-2 1/2 yrs., Pre-school 2 1/2 to 3.8 yrs., J.K/S.K. every other day, Step by Step for those children attending Wilfrid Jury Public School for JK or SK who require wrap around child care and a before and after school program for children ages 6-12 years. At this site we also operate a Pre-Kindergarten Early Learning Program (PELP) on Wed. and Fri. mornings for children 2 1/2- 3.8 yrs.
In the child care and PELP programs our educators provide a variety of interest areas and fun learning activities that focus on social, emotional, cognitive, physical, communication, language and literacy skills to support your child’s developmental growth.
In the before and after school program, our educators provide opportunities for fun and relaxing activities before and after a busy school day. Activities include outdoor games, sports, arts and crafts, sensory, indoor games and special events.
Exciting activities for school age children are held on PA days, during the summer months, March Break and Christmas at our Wilfrid Jury location. Emphasis is placed on field trips/ special visitors, special days, outdoor and recreational activities. A PA Day Registration is sent out to all families outlining the planned activities for each day and how to register. A calendar of activities is provided prior to the March Break and the summer program.
