New Programs

In October 2011 Whitehills Childcare Association submitted a proposal to Thames Valley District School Board for the operation of Extended Day Programs at schools where Full Day Kindergarten will start in September 2012. Whitehills will be providing Extended Day programs and before and after programs for McGillivray Central Public School and East Williams Public School both in Middlesex County beginning September 2012. We will be surveying the parents of these schools in early 2012 to ensure that there is enough interest and need for the programs to operate.

Oxbow Public School in Ilderton will be offering Full Day Kindergarten starting September 2012 and Whitehills will automatically operate the Extended Day and before and after program for this school as we are already providing before and after school programs for Oxbow School at the Arena. It is anticipated that we will be moving both the before and after as well as operating the extended programs for JK and SK in the school as per the request from the school board. This will allow us to work more closely in partnership with the school. At this time the Pre-Kindergarten Early Learning Program (PELP) will remain at the arena.

All of the teachers in the toddler room have been fantastic and show dedication, enthusiasm, and genuine concern for the children they teach. Our son often tells us how much he loves them and misses them when they are away. To see our son run into the classroom each morning with a smile, eager to hug his teacher, and then see his teachers reciprocate with the same warmth and love, means so much to us as parents. Andrew’s teachers are not the only ones who create the wonderful environment that Andrew experiences each day. It seems that everyone radiates warmth and kindness whenever we, or our son interact with them. The Program Supervisor continues to be supportive to the staff, as evidenced by their positive attitudes and satisfaction in working there. She has been so accommodating to us this year while I’ve been on maternity leave, working her scheduling magic to meet our needs. As well, we are so impressed with the leadership of the Executive Director. Her commitment to continuous improvement and leading the way with the Early Learning Framework has not only benefited the children, but has ensured a solid future for Whitehills Childcare.
